It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Hey guys,
So my plan of posting on Sunday failed but isn't it more fun this random day since it's a surprise the next time I post (yeah I've never been that good at lying...)

Hmm what have I done since I last posted, well I said I'd show you an updated version of our Christmas tree, so here it is!

So we got our tree from Stockeld Park like we always do and in their Christmas gift shop I saw a small cherry blossom tree but they only had either bright white lights or warm yellow ones.

Me being me (obsessed with a bit of colour everywhere) wanted the multicoloured lights on it as they had one with coloured lights but on a huge tree so it was ridiculously expensive.

But of course I could rely on Amazon so I ordered a small multi coloured tree and it looks so cool!

You just attach on the flowers itself and it was only like a tenner/£15, I can't remember because I didn't actually pay for it because my parents are sympathetic as I'm living that fun student life remember..

Just thought I'd show you the cute entrance to the section of the shop which basically was the christmas lights section, I loved it way too much. I also got a cool changing colour light up snowman which I'm so obsessed with (loving life being a big kid..me being an adult noo never)

So yeah I did actually buy something from the Christmas shop. Here's a sequence of pictures as an attempt to show you how it looks when it's on (still haven't worked out/don't know if you can upload videos on here oops)

Then on Saturday I went Christmas shopping in York with my mum and we went to Betty's as a special treat since we did that last year as well. Gotta keep the very special 1 year tradition going you know (yeah it's so not a thing but hey it happened)

The food was so good, I mean it fkin better be for the price you're aka my mum was paying! I got smoked salmon with prawns and prawn marie sauce on an open sandwich and my mum and I (yeah that's right only took me to be an english undergrad to remember to not say me and my mum..) shared a Christmas rosti.

So we ended up bumping into the moaning lisa (yep I actually meant to say that) so of course I took a picture as the guy looked so funny. 

We wanted to have a full on day of Christmas shopping so after we got to Leeds we stayed a bit before we went home and we went to the German Market. I don't think I've been to it before which is so weird since I've lived here all my life! I mean it was cool and everything but just so expensive so I didn't actually buy anything, doesn't help being on a student budget (who said being a student was fun..)

I also found a nice Christmas present for my brother from York which I really hope he likes, basically it's a lamp that lights up all different colours as it reflects the coloured mosaic on it. I swear if he doesn't like it I'm just gonna keep it (sounds like a good plan b for me)

Skipping back to more of what I got in York since I didn't actually buy anything for myself in Leeds, I just ended up buying my friend's christmas presents. 

So way back in a previous blog, I must've shown you the glass snowman I got so this year I had to get another little figure from my fave glass shop, of course I chose a santa (yep it has no legs but why not) So here are both of my cute little figures:

Back From My Hiatus!!

Hey guys!
I can't believe it's been nearly 3 months since I've last posted on here, if you genuinely care aka like 2 of you then I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to leave it this long it's just been hectic these past few months what with starting uni and that.

So this is what I wrote when I broke up for reading week which is ages ago now but thought why not include it:

Wow okay so this is weird, I have missed blogging so much it's been weird not posting every Sunday! Basically I've been having a tough time at uni like I can't believe I've been there for so long it is so unreal, the time has gone so slow but also so fast (I know that doesn't even make sense but that's what it feels like)

So that was a fail but anyway fast forward like 5 weeks and I've finished term 1 and I'm back home for Christmas for over a month!! I'm so excited and happy to be back home, wow I have missed chilling on a sofa and watching tv so much, our kitchen chairs aren't exactly the comfiest..

But hey I'm back, hope you didn't miss me too much (joke you probably clicked on this by accident..) sorry about the font, my mac is messing up, life isn't perfect okay haha




So this was before uni but I got this in Leeds in a really cute cafe called  Mrs Atha's. 

They honestly were the best tasting pancakes I've ever had, they were so good. 

Throwback to the day I started uni, yep the car was packed full.
Ugh what a tough day that was, I was an emotional wreck even before I got to York!

I definitely didn't prepare for uni but then again how can you prepare for something like that?!

So above is what my bedroom looks like, I'm actually pretty happy with the size as me and my flatmates have been on a "flat tour' comparing rooms and mine is one of the biggest which is cool.

We all have ensuits which I didn't realise how much I needed until I had one, I don't think I could cope with shared so good on anyone out there who's braving sharing a bathroom with a load of randomers!

To the right is how I've decorated my shelves with fairy lights, pretty cool right?! I mean I tried

 

I was gonna show you my cool christmas costa cup drink but I'm sure you've already seen way too many posted online so I'll save you that.

Instead, look how pretty the glittery gold and rose gold marshmallows looked, it's the toasted marshmallow hot chocolate if you're wondering, just the best thing!









Yes that is a random really cute fluffy dog I took a picture of, I can explain. So basically I joined CatSoc aka Cat Society (it's cool I swear..better than taylor swift soc..) and our first meeting we went around York on the cat trail (yep it is a real thing and no we weren't looking for real cats)

They're all statues and are randomly placed around York city centre (I won't show you them all as there are loads) and we came across a random dog and of course I took a picture!

But it was fun and I made a friend from there who I now talk too and have been out with separate from our society which is cool.

This is what I usually get for breakfast if you wanna know, I'm catered so I get breakfasts and tea made for me. I don't regret it at all, I couldn't have coped with self catered given the best thing I can make is pasta...I have that at weekends when we make our own meals so I'm still living the great student life (such an experience..)

So only recently I've done up my room as I've either been stressed with work (I didn't know how intense my course would be!) or struggling with uni life, uni's been greeeatt...


At York's christmas market which I'd recommend if you're close, to go visit, I got this amazing smelling thing (could be a bauble on a christmas tree who knows?!)

To the left is an update on my shelves, yeah I'm that sad person who kept both my costa cups because I thought they'd look cool.

Outside the uni library which I left to take this picture, work doesn't matter when there's a pretty sunset, right?!

Bet you didn't expect to see blood when you clicked on my post, I just love to surprise people..

Tip to everyone, please don't wear flats without socks even if they're just those tiny below ankle one, I recovered aha but it hurt like a bitch

it's because I got new clothes and I wanted to show my friends my uncle's cool mirror as I stayed there for a few nights to see my brother on his birthday

don't worry I'm not that vain, I'd never actually post this online somewhere..oh wait (eye rolls at myself)

I went to my mum's art class (I live a cool life I know..) so we both made one but I added my special touch of my obsession with hearts made out of red coloured twigs because why the fuck not?!

So I went to Vipers in Harrogate last Saturday and met the legend Adam Thomas from I'm A Celeb

He honestly was exactly like he was on tv (if you watched I'm a celeb then you can imagine)

Just so funny and lovely and he even danced with me and my friends so yeah had a good night out as well!

So it looks pretty bare now but since this is a random mid week post as I couldn't get my act together to post on Sunday oops I'll do another post this Sunday and update you on our decorated christmas tree!

Dunno if you can tell from the picture but as we have fancy ass Victorian high ceilings, we can have 9ft trees I love it

Hope you've been having a good few months, hang on in there if you're like me and definitely didn't have the best start to uni but keep going, we got this!!
