A Fun Christmas Break

Hey guys!
Hope everyone's had a lovely break for Christmas! But if you're one of the people that didn't for whatever reason, just remember that tomorrow is a new day and you don't know what happiness it holds for you! Since that was a lot of cheese to take in, basically I just meant that feeling sad doesn't last forever so it's worth waiting to live another day. (the muscle emoji is so relevant rn)

So rewind back to a couple of weeks ago where me & my old school friends all reunited in harrogate, it was so lovely! We went to cafe m which I haven't been too before and I had a hot chocolate (as I'm that awkward person that doesn't like either tea or coffee) Just look at that beauty mmm:

We exchanged our Christmas presents so the staff there loved us with all the wrapping paper we had everywhere oops..

So I may have ended up getting another hot chocolate in costa but it was all worth it because look at those pretty glittery marshmallows!

As always I decided to do Christmassy nails but this year my mum treated me to it at a nail salon rather than doing it myself (I mean I am basically as good as a professional..in my head I am)
How cool is the blue with the glitter just at the cuticles, when I take this off I'm so gonna recreate this look with some of my own nail polishes. I have this really cool turquoise colour which I wanna use.

Also in preparation for Christmas, I brought out my Paperchase pink Christmas tree that I've had for years & years now but I love it!

I added a shit ton of decorations because I feel like it's acceptable to go a bit crazy at Christmas time, right?!

I took the picture on the right before I decorated the tree in case you're confused, I forgot to take another after

So this is currently my lock screen because I refuse to except that Christmas is officially over for another year.

So I swear my house couldn't have been more festive (but luckily I'm not a scrooge/grinch unlike some people so I loved it)

We had these cute set of santa's on top of our wardrobe and then surrounded by tinsel of course, cute right?

My mum made a Christmas cake and I helped decorate it with random festive objects.

I don't even like it (I know I'm weird..) but it looks nice!

NOW WE'RE TALKING..
                                            so CHRISTMAS DAY

I got up about 10/11 (yeah getting up early died when I was like 12) This was our breakfast layout in the morning, do you recognise the cool lit up tree in the background?!

Here was the preparation for the pigs in blankets which I did (isn't it like the best thing about Christmas, who cares about family it's all about the food right;)

I so should have taken some after pictures but I ate them so quickly I forgot oops..

TADAAA..here is the amazing food we ate for lunch/tea, it was so good!

Yes we had christmas lights on our actual table, I wouldn't expect anything less from my family it's great

While my dad was making the food we all exchanged presents (my 2nd favourite part of Christmas) Not as the reason you think like I actually love seeing people's reactions of the presents I got them as I always take pride in getting a gift I think they will love.

This present from my mum to me just sums up how she literally recycles EVERYTHING, so she tied my presents in ribbon but as it was for me she left the ribbon on the roll as she knew straight after she'd just keep it and put it away in the box (eye rolls at my mum knowing that will probably be me someday)
Coolest christmas wrapping paper ever right?!
Just before I finished term 1 of uni I found this cool lit up star that I knew my mum would love so I sneakily bought it for her for Christmas while shopping with her (I'm basically part of MI5 and thought you'd wanna see)
Just to preface it so I didn't realise you are meant to attach the star to a bulb but that's just awkward so instead I shoved a load of fairy lights in and they work great!
Star ft our penguin we bring out every year behind it

My Christmas presents which I may have posted on insta..sorry I am that person..

Boxing Day was a chill day after I got home from a 6 hour shift and the days after we played family games together which was fun.

GUESS WHAT
I actually won the game this year!!

If you didn't know my brother always wins so I was happy, it's a game called catan which is fun it's about making settlements and stuff.

(I was the blue one taking over the board ofc)

Then on the 28th we went around to my Auntie's house to spend the day with family, aka babysit the kids (joking I love them really)

The food was so good, there was salted caramel profiteroles, chocolate cake and fruit tart.

Now onto New Years Eve (sorry so much to catch up on, I'll try be brief)

For the first time ever (since I'm only 18) I went out for NYE with my friends rather than staying in with family (both is fun just very different)

I wore my new crushed velvet skirt and my auburn velvet top (you wouldn't know I liked velvet would you..)

Yeah here's me being a poser in the mirror (it was hard to crop out my friends with the weird angle I took the picture at damn)

It was fun and may have had you know the typical thing you do after you countdown to a new year;)

Have any of you got the new iPhone? I'm guessing some of you might but recently I've been loving the live mode. I wanted to set a live picture as my lock screen because I know the newest iPhone can do that but mine can't (1st world problems I know)

Anyway so yeah that's Christmas & New Years summed up (not very briefly sorry) Hope you all had a lovely break and good luck with whatever work/uni/school related thing you're doing now!! Just have fun. Now I'm back to uni this Sunday I dunno how frequent I will blog as my life is hectic over there and often I'm not very optimistic as I'm not close with any of my flatmates so it's just a bit awkward but my goal is to be more positive. Basically meaning instead of saying this is gonna be shit I'll think it instead, that's better right;)

Speak sometime when I'm free at uni or when I'm back home for reading week in week 6 so like February time, byeeee
Sophie
PS: enjoy this picture of my cat Smudge, I'm so sad I'm leaving her for over a month ugh
