Cool Red Sun

Hey again,

Hope everything's going alright with you!

I'm guessing if you live in the UK you will have seen the bright red sun last Monday. It was so bright it looked photoshopped. It's crazy how the winds from Africa have blown over here and coloured the sun and created an orange sky.

Here's the pictures I took, they aren't that great but you can still see:
As it's halloween soon I thought I'd buy these cute tea lights and change my light board..(who even needs a h when you're a northerner right)
This is totally random but my uni put up some cute colourful lights so obviously I had to take a picture:
Yesterday it was my cousin's 8th birthday party (actually unreal how fast they grow up I swear she was just 6) at Castle Howard. I also have a 6 year old cousin they are both adorable, we went round this halloween trail which was cool. Then we went to this playground which I acted like a big kid in because that's just who I am.
There were some nice views:
I do love my online shopping (I mean what else is student loan for right;)
I found this pink denim jacket on boohoo and fell in love, I had wanted one like this for ages. Here's me being a poser, isn't it nice though!
Now onto decorating my room which is my favourite thing to do, I found this cute decoration reduced from £75 to £24 on urban outfitters how good is that! I then changed my bedsheets to blue and white ombre from a cactus theme (my latest obsession)
Right that's it, enjoy your week!

How To Save Money

Hey,

I'm actually posting on a Sunday I told you so..

This will sound weird from a uni student as most don't know how to manage their money but weirdly I've gotten good at it so thought I may as well share my tips.

So:

1. Stop ordering clothes online and maybe even food shopping if you can't help ordering loads (side note: never order food when you're hungry)

2. Don't use your cards to pay for much/only pay for certain items on your card

3. Take out a certain amount of money for you to spend during the week and don't allow yourself to go over

4. Allow yourself restricted treat days a month, just don't go overboard

5. Don't panic/stress if you go into your overdraft, a lot of students have and eventually you'll get out

That's basically it I hope they help any students out there or just people with a job who are trying to save money.

Might as well update you on my week, so last Monday I went to a Jessie J concert with my friend it was so good. Although we got lost trying to find Albert Hall as the trams are very confusing. Then we had to leave early to get the train and oh guess what..we missed it after all that. We left during Jessie singing do it like a dude which was sad but apart from that she was incredible.

Look how pretty these colourful water fountains in Manchester were:
Here's an update on what my living room looks like, I added some pom poms that fell off my pink cushion to the wall and my housemate painted those cacti:

Innocent smoothies are raising money for age UK and have loads of different hat designs.

So we've now decided to put the little hats on every door knob, so far we have 3.
Does anyone remember the tv programme Zoey 101? Well, I always wanted to own one of those cute keys, and painting both my garage keys different colours is the closest I'll get. I've been getting confused for ages so thought why not, it's so useful so little tip for any home owners/renters out there.
Everyone autumn is here and I love it, mostly because of the pretty pictures I can take! This was just outside my uni, I posted a better picture on my instagram.. check it out if you wanna;)
You'll be happy to know that's my catch up with you all over, hope you all have a lovely week and I'll talk to you next weekend.

Italy Holiday Blues

Hey guys,

Sorry it's been like a month since my last post..(but it's fine as I doubt anyone cares)

So I need to update you on how my holiday was, seems forever now I miss it so much! The views were incredible and the heat was lovely. Me and my family went to Sorrento in Italy for 1 week, it was so nice since our last family holiday abroad was at least 5 years ago.

This was the view from our hotel room, I was obsessed with the palm trees. I even had a palm tree ring that I got before holiday, I mean talk about matching aesthetics.
So our hotel clearly had a cool theme of these head statues as they were everywhere when we went down to eat breakfast and tea (yes it's tea not dinner) I took pictures of loads of them as they were all different colours so I want to do a typology, when I finish it I'll show you the finished result. Here's what they looked like to give you an idea:
At our hotel we had 5 swimming pools which I took full advantage of, even if they were freezing cold, at least I could sunbathe in the sun after. Look how nice they were:
My favourite thing was choosing my outfits, felt great to be able to wear summer clothes again as it's basically winter now never mind Autumn.
Here's me with my lace coverup I loved, I also had a pink palm tree swimsuit on from h&m!

You do realise I'm just going to be spamming you with holiday pictures oops, anyway we climbed up Mount Vesuvius which was tiring so I obviously had to get a picture. Like if you didn't take a picture did you really even go there..don't worry I roll my eyes at my generation too.

We went to Pompeii too which was cool as we had this lovely tour guide explaining about what happened there, I would definitely recommend you to visit here and Vesuvius if you go to Italy.

Here are some panoramas I took when we went to the beach and just around our hotel:
One of the things I loved most was the culture and Italian people in general (yes I'm stereotyping) seemed lovely. I learnt how to say thank you, hello, good morning, good evening and other random words like fragola (strawberry). I was trying to make an effort but at the same time not make a fool of myself speaking broken up Italian (my mum may have got a bit carried away ha)

Overall the trip was amazing, the gelato (ice cream) was delicious, apart from breaking down on a long coach journey to the Amalfi Coast it was good (lets just ignore that bit..lets just say I would have rather jumped off the cliff than been on that coach)

Anyway to sum up my trip, we saw the sunset as we were about to fly back home, great last surprise! Oh also we nearly missed our flight as they got the boarding plane and gates open bit mixed up, we made it in the end though.
Now, onto uni 2nd year, York uni starts late compared to everyone else so we had freshers week last week and had my first proper week of seminars and lectures this week, how fun..

It's weird going back after so long but living in my house with 2 other girls makes me so much happier than living wth 15, my anxiety level has definitely dropped dramatically phew.
Here are my 3 cushions I have, aren't they cute! I'm in love with my new cactus bedsheets too.
I need to take a picture with all my lights on because my room is so colourful and bright I love it, here's a sneak peak:
Ooh little update for you, my student loan came and the first thing I spent it on was doing my nails, obviously my top priority;) but being the confused person I am I forgot acrylic nails meant having fake nails which is so weird, I had to cut them short as I don't like having claws.
Long story short, you can see my bright pink nail that's why I started explaining, anyway how cute is my new succulent I got from a plant sale as well as a matching plant pot.
Here's a pretty sunset reflection to end my post, I love my uni campus
Okay I'm gonna stop now before I bore you all to death, I'll actually post next Sunday so talk then, have a good week!!

Sophie
