My New Photography Insta

Hey,

So I recently made a photography instagram with one of my best friends who I did photography a level with because we both miss it. I'm so glad we did because it's a fun thing for us to do, we decided that every two pictures we would have a new theme so if any of you wanna go check it out..

photographypalss is our username (yep that extra s annoys me too)

Right so lets start off on a random funny note, here's me in my brothers huge sombrero he got from Spain years ago.

I went to Harlow Carr with my mum, I took a picture of the prettiest flower which you can see on my new insta (shameless self promo of course) and I also have some cool ones I took of the jurassic park theme they had. The first picture is me in a teepee because why not!
I went to two of the outdoor screenings of the greatest showman (I love the film and the powerful message the songs have), one with my friend in millennium square in Leeds and one in deans park by  the minster in York. Search luna cinemas if you're interested, I love these events. The first picture is one of  the harry potter shops that I love, if you love HP like me then there are 3 in York just saying;)
Is it just me or does these lights remind me of that scene from tangled, super cute!
Here's my cat being cute:
I went to Fusion Fest in Liverpool last weekend it was amazing! I went last year but this time I went for both days, check my personal insta for some cute pictures. I got my hair done I loved it, I now have no voice and I'm super tired from standing for over 9 hours each day but it was worth it.

Hope you've been having a great summer! Enjoy yourselves,

Friends Fest in Manchester

Hey,

So about posting every Sunday hmm I mean it isn't as if most of you care so I'm probably apologising to no one but just in case someone is reading this then sorry I'll try do better.

I'm back now, so I dyed my hair pink again! Well the ends as my hair is so thin if I bleached it all it would damage it badly. So for now I'll stick to dying my ends but one day I definitely wanna dye my hair because life is too short not too!

So it was my 20th birthday on 17th July and honestly I feel no different, still just trying to adult everyday life. Here's my cake my mum made me to the left.

Here's a cool cactus light one of my friends got me to the right.

Pretty random but whenever there is a rainbow I'll straight away be outside taking a picture.
Above is the Potting Shed in Harrogate which is a new bar/lunch/cute restaurant area open near spoons and I love it. I had the best steak ever and I love plants anyway so it was the perfect backdrop to look at I would definitely recommend if you're up north!

I've been on a lot of nights outs since I've been back in Leeds, just meeting up with my home friends as much as possible before I'm back at uni. It's been good!

Now onto Friends Fest, now if you've read one of my blogs from way back you'll know I've been to both the Leeds and the Sheffield one. I seem to be following friends fest around England and I'm not ashamed about it. That tv show will never get old, anyway here are my cool pictures from the set:
I was practising my inner unagi in Ross' apartment of course;) If you don't watch friends that reference will go over your head but oh well you're missing out.
It was such a fun day out they had Rachel and Monica's apartment as well as Joey and Chandlers it's recreated so well! The food there was also amazing.

Hope you've all been having a good summer and enjoyed love island if you got onto that hype, have a good week and talk next week.

Bye,
Sophie

BBQs in Summer

Hey people,

Gonna start off nice and cute with showing you these beautiful sunflowers I have because why not:
As the title suggests, I went to a friends house and had a BBQ and we watched the footy it was so fun. Even though England ended up losing (we were raging at the tv) we all still had a good time.

Just so you know...
...in 2022

It's funny because I used to hate football but ever since this world cup I've just thought why not I'll support England and they've done so much better than at previous cups so I chose a good time to start watching. It's also hard to resist watching as my mum is obsessed so the football's always on. When we beat Panama 6-1 my mum and I were with my cousins but luckily they were into it too so we watched from the bar (priorities right..)

Has anyone been to Trinity Kitchen? I am obsessed I went there on Thursday and had the most amazing pulled pork BBQ burger and they do student discount. I love the graffiti on the walls too:

Last but not least my room has all been changed around because I have a new bed but now I have less storage my room is a mess. I'll show you eventually when it's tidier.

My cat has been exploring all the high shelves and I love this picture because spot Adele's eyes on the shelf (it's her book when I saw her on tour she was amazing)

Enjoy your day and next week

Hello it's me again

So hey guys!

I didn't mean to have this long a break from blogging it just kinda of happened. If anybody missed me (highly doubt that) well I'm back baby.

A lot has happened since then as it has been like 4 months (again I'm sorry to those few people that care) but I'll definitely be posting every Sunday from now on!

Like I said if you can even remember from my last post I said I'd show you a picture of me by my photography but I didn't end up getting one but I did take a picture of mine (the top one) alongside another photosoc members work:
It's funny because you can tell we all live in York as a lot of people's pictures were of the geese (there's a river that runs through our uni with geese and ducks etc)

Rewind to 9th June last month I went to summertime ball for the first time with my friends and it was amazing!! We were all roasting it was so hot and then towards the end it pissed it down, typical British weather.

Can we just talk about the heatwave in UK right now like I think I've experienced enough sun to last me a lifetime. I like the hot weather but it's just sweltering and we don't have aircon here because unlike other countries we don't expect this. It rarely happens but when it does we all go a bit mad.

Fast forward to 12th June, I went to our uni's end of summer ball which was good, I posted a few pictures on my insta if you're curious. I ended up getting my dress only the day before (classic me)..

I know pride month was June and it's July now but pride events are still happening, I just wanted to say happy pride everyone!! It's a wonderful time to openly be yourself (if you're in a safe position, if not just you wait) and celebrate with the people you love and appreciate those who lost their lives trying to fight for justice. My uni had this flag up in the english department I'm in how cute, also love the plants.
Now onto 15th July, so I stayed with my best friend in London for a long weekend who coincidentally does exactly the same course as me just at a different uni which is cool (means we can help each other a lot)

We were all just been tourists a lot of the time, I have been before just not recently. I loved seeing all the pretty decorations. Just above to the left is Trafalgar Square and to the right is Covent Garden.
I love anything with flowers they just instantly make everything better! (just gonna plug my instagram again as I posted more cute floral pictures with friends)

Quick life update: I moved out of my 2nd year house and have moved into my 3rd year house which is exciting yet also terrifying. I love the house and did take some pictures but I'd rather show you my room later once it's all nicely decorated. Here is the living room, obviously we brought along our favourite cushions to make it look cute, there's also lots of pretty artwork all around the house.
and tadaaa that's my life up to date pretty much apart from the fact that I had my last volunteering session with my client which was sad and unexpected but I'll get assigned to someone else in September when I start uni again.

Now enough rambling this is already a long blog post, hope you've been having a great summer and have been enjoying the sun!
Talk to you next week, byeeeeee
Sophie
PS: congrats if you ventured this far but how did I forget to say, I got a 2.1 overall!! and I did pass that horrible old english exam YAAYYYYY
okay now actually byeeee:)

2nd year uni exams done!

Hey guys,

Sorry it's been a few weeks since I've last posted but I've been so busy and stressed about revision I haven't really had time. Anyway I'm back now, no more exams!!

Well as long as I didn't fail old english (who knows what I was thinking when I took that module..) but I'm trying to be optimistic. My other exam which was variation and change went a lot better at least. I'm still waiting back for assignment marks as well as exam marks (I just love that anxious period of knowing at anytime I could get emailed my results..)

Moving on..this is the front of my garden it's so pretty:
I've been wondering why I was never sent this picture (down below) a year ago at the photosoc exhibition, only recently I plucked up the courage to ask so this time I'm just gonna ask straight away (just the little things you know) It's on tomorrow evening so I'll show you the picture next weekend.
I have my old way too big for my face glasses on so ignore those but I already showed you last year the pics I chose I'm pretty sure but yeah excited for tomorrow.

Random story but me and my housemate ended up rescuing a baby bird who flew into our window, look how adorable! We reunited it with it's family with RSPCA's help so it was a happy ending. Random fact that you probably don't care about but female blackbirds are actually brown, I never knew that.
I went back home a few weeks ago for Michael Mcintyre's big world tour and omg he is hilarious, his support act was so funny too. He took the mick out of the royal wedding and that really enthusiastic minister it was so funny, but on a side note how cute were meghan & harry!! I loved her on suits, if you haven't seen that then you need too and harry is my favourite royal he's just so down to earth and caring (I sound like a royalist but I'm really not, don't care if you are though)
The Leeds Direct Arena is always so pretty when it's lit up!

After that (and before) I'd been revising for ages so didn't get up to much but I did go revise in the park by York Minster. Look how scenic the view was, it was such a lovely hot day it's rare for us to have a bright blue sky with no clouds.
I took this after my first exam (the one that went well) I love the family of ducks:
So yeah that's pretty much it, I'm gonna go enjoy my long awaited freedom!
Hoe you get to enjoy the nice weather!

Wildlife Pictures on campus

Hey guys,

So remember I said I would show you the pictures I took last week well here they are:
So bear with some of the pictures at the start as I was such an idiot I forgot to check what white balance setting my brother had left my camera on (he borrowed my camera over easter)

So I might need to do some more editing before I submit some of these for the photosoc exhibition we're having this year, I did it last year and I've only just got sent the picture of me by my work but look:
Looking back I can't believe I wore those glasses for like 2 years they were way too big for my face..you live and you learn I guess because now I love my smaller round glasses.

I just love cherry blossom trees:
So I reorganised the top of my chest of drawers and I love it, of course I have my motivational postcard my friend gave me, I need that as my assignments are stressing me out right now.
To the right of this picture I have my favourite heart light and rose gold bulb!
Right I'll talk to you all next week,
Byeeee!
