Body Positivity

Hey guys, hope you're all good!

Quick reminder that it's only 42 days until christmas (yes I'm that person who has a countdown app counting down until christmas on their phone...don't judge me)

Anyway, before I get distracted I just wanna talk to you about something specifically that is close to my heart, you probably already know from the title name but BODY POSITIVITY more specifically the issue of skinny shaming. I'm just putting this out there I don't know if you'll agree but I feel like with bigger chubbier people everyone is so afraid of offending them (unless you're a prick) and so everybody focuses on defending overweight people, that skinnier people are forgotten about.

This was brought up to my attention by a popular song (I know indirect much) that I know won't have meant to have gone so far with the lyrics that it's skinny shaming people but I still feel somebody should say something about. People automatically assume if you aren't overweight then you shouldn't have anything to worry about, now I'm not talking about being so skinny you are anorexic I mean the group of people above that who are just born naturally skinny and petite.

Personally I would categorise myself as part of this group, hopefully you agree with me on this one but constantly I feel so self conscious of my skinny arms like it's gotten to the point where I now refuse to wear anything not long sleeved or 3/4 length at a push. And I know they'll be people just thinking "well eat more food then" but they are so naive because trust me on this one it really isn't that simple. Like if you saw the amount of crappy junk food I ate, you'd honestly would wonder why I'm not fat!

But now talking to people who fit into both categories; naturally skinny and naturally bigger or overweight people I just wanna say please don't compare yourself to girls online who have spent about 4 hours in hair and makeup and then edited on photoshop because girrll nobody looks like that (my attempt at being sassy oh god). As long as you yourself are happy with your body then all that's left to say is go slay that body. And for people who aren't confident with how you look then please listen to me when I say nobody is completely flawless, all different shapes and sizes are perfect in their own way. If you aren't happy with how you look then go make a change, join the local gym or sports team, even walking is a form of exercise (given how much walking I do a day I know how tiring and strenuous it actually can be).

I wanna end on an exciting note; guess what's being released on the 20th November...
alright I'll tell you it's Mockingjay Part 1! You don't even know how much this excites me, the trailer just looks so damn good

Right, I actually have to do some work, I feel like this is what I procrastinate on constantly oops
Talk to you guys soon and remember love your body!
Sophie
