New Uni Purchases

Hey everyone!
You won't be able to tell but wow this is weird for me, it feels so different (scroll to the bottom to find out if you don't wanna listen to my ramblings)

So if I'm honest I didn't really do anything the past week until Thursday (apart from binge-watching tv shows) but then I got more productive.

I ended up being very spontaneous Thursday night after my friends and I all met last minute to go to the fair in Harrogate and then for a drink afterwards. We talked about going to the fair in the day but it didn't take long for good ol' British weather to ruin that idea. I complain about the UK a lot but I do love it here, I realise that when once a year the sun ventures out and I can't cope. 17 degrees is too hot for me and recently we've had 23 degree weather which is crazy for us. The one thing I don't love is the constant rain we get (all you lucky lot living in hot countries have it good, I know you might have downpours but mostly it's dry)

We went on the waltzers which was fun, it brought back memories of the last time I went which was at least 3 years ago, how crazy! This time I went with all new friends apart from one friend who I went with last time. Next was the ride where (hmm I dunno the name so here goes) that goes side to side and up and down in a sweeping motion. Hopefully you know which one I mean, so that was good too apart from the lovely wet patch on our bums after because oh what a surprise it was still raining at 7 when we eventually got to town. The 3rd ride we went on was the ones that spin you round and round and back and forth (again dunno the name) which also showered us with foam. I was sat in the middle of my two friends and wow I got crushed, to this day (why does that phrase make everything sound so serious) I have a bump on the back of my head where I wacked it on the bar. Last but not least we went on this ghost train ride which I was excited about as I've never been on a scary ghost ride before. Up until the last bit me and my friend were fine but then this ghost came out of nowhere and screamed, we freaked the fuck out and of course this was where the ride ended so my friend filmed us freaking out. To finish off a good night we went so spoons but none of us were staying long so I just got a coke.

Okay apologies for the long rant!

Now skip to Friday night and there was the most beautiful sky ever! So of course I now have 7 different pictures of the sunset (yep I counted)

Here's some of the prettiest pictures which I haven't even edited because it doesn't need it.

Saturday was a busier but exciting day as it was time to get a macbook for uni (yep that's why I said it felt weird earlier because the keyboard is totally different to a computers) Writing this has helped me get used to it, so you guys have helped without even knowing. Before I went to buy it, I looked at all 3 options which meant between a Macbook, a Macbook Pro and a Macbook Air. Originally when thinking about this I thought of getting a pro but with my brother's advice, my parents and the lovely people at Apple. I decided on a normal Macbook but no not just any (again I just can't help being so dramatic) a rose gold one!

Isn't it so beautiful, I'm actually in love! Who needs guys when you have this...

GUESS WHAT..

I got a free pair of Beats wireless headphones because I bought a Macbook and of course I got the limited edition rose gold ones.

So now I have a rose gold phone, mac and headphones.

After I got my mac I went to boots with my mum as I had a £3 No7 makeup voucher so I thought I'd take advantage as it ran out soon. I got this exceptional definition mascara as I had a taster one before which was amazing on my bottom lashes and this lipstick in the shade berry plum I think. Here's my hand after I swatched all the shades to see what they were like, I eventually found the darker berry yet subtle lipstick that I wanted (yep I know very specific) I loved the berry shade I already have but the thing is with me and lipsticks is as soon as I get attached to one I end up wearing it all the time. So I thought it was time for a change, I liked my berry benefit one but it was much brighter and I wanted a darker one. (incase you don't know the one in the middle is the one I got)

We then went to Waterstones as my mum was buying me some books I need for uni and then after spotting this pokemon go table which I found funny.

I found a 50% off voucher for costa and I couldn't resist.

Especially as the voucher ran out soon, I got a belgian chocolate creamy cooler!

Excuse my shitty nails but next time you see them they'll be much better and a different colour.

On the way home we stopped off at this burger place and got some food aka burgers obviously. I got this beef burger with mozzarella, red pepper and wow it was so good!

Sorry if I'm making you hungry but damn that was one tasty burger!

Also I thought the place looked super cute as well

The place is in Leeds if any of you live nearby then you should definitely check it out

My dad surprised me with a load of sharpies he got from WHSmiths for £7.99 instead of £17.99 so that was amazing! Sorry I'm one of those people who get excited by stationary and if you are too then be quick and drag your ass to your nearest store (says in a friendly way I swear) either for school/uni/work etc.
Finally I have to show you this cute caprese lunch I made for my family, I got it from this cute salad book. It's so easy to make so if you love mozzarella & tomatoes like me then you"ll love it.

  1. Slice the tomatoes
  2. Cut mozzarella into strips
  3. Put it together like a sandwich
  4. If you like basil put that on top (I actually love basil now mm)
  5. Sprinkle olive oil or balsamic vinegar on top just to be fancy
So 5 easy steps and you get this, so simple to make yet it tastes amazing!
So I guess I'll talk to you soon, byeeee
Sophie

(just to let you know I had to google how to copy and paste on a mac but I finally did it..it's an achievement for me okay)

I Got Into York Uni!

Hey guys! How you all doing?

Right so I'm guessing some of you must be obsessed with snapchat just like me. It gets to the point that everyday I check the new snapchat filters to see what weird and wonderful filter they've created. Also I have to send it to my 3 friends so I don't lose my snapchat streak. I mean cmon I have a 134 day streak, a 78 one & a 66 one. Definitely one of my proudest achievements (it's sad because I'm not even joking..)

Here's me using the filters with younger me because I had no one else around..I live a sad life.

Joking okay I do actually have friends I swear.

So on Monday I think I must have been watching the Olympics as I took the pictures of Smudge sleeping on me about 2am. I've been loving watching the Olympics lately so it's weird now it's the last day, team GB have done amazing! I watched Mo Farah yesterday and wow I mean double Olympic champion is amazing. I watched an interview with him and it's so sweet as he is giving a gold medal to each of his kids.

Here she is being so adorable on my lap and then I was holding her paw it was so cute.

Yes I'm a cat person just accept it okay;)

After volunteering I went for a Pokemon hunt with my mum as I had 2 eggs that were nearly going to hatch. I came across a jigglypuff but I didn't have any pokéballs left, it was so tragic and upsetting that I took a picture of it. I wish I'm exaggerating but I'm still gutted, I ended up getting more pokéballs but when I returned it was gone.

Look how cute it is, the most annoying thing is I've never caught it before.

It's sad how much this has affected me but I don't even care I love Pokemon and I know loads of other people do.

Cmon pokemon is so addictive, right?!

I'm on level 14 I'm getting there!

I went to Harlow Carr with my mum, auntie & uncle and my cousin once removed (seriously this family relationships shit gets so confusing) Anyway, I took my camera which I actually haven't used in ages since finishing my photography a level which is quite sad. So it was good to use it again, here are some of the pictures I took.

I just took this because I couldn't work out why it was there?!

It seems so random and weird

Seriously though, what is it meant to be?

Below is me trying to use the rule of thirds technique which I learnt from my photograpy a level, think I did alright

(it just means making the object aligned in thirds in a grid)

Of course when I saw this I persuaded my mum to do it first and said if she did it then I'd do it after.

So here's me posing as a spaceman cartoon kid it looks like?! I honestly don't know but as soon as I saw it I just had too.

Bear in mind the sun was shining diretly into my eyes..

So it was painful attempting to open my eyes so that's why I was squinting

if you view this on a phone I'm sorry for all the blank space..

Me and my mum (just realised it should be my mum and I but honestly I don't care, language evolves I'm just starting the evolution of modern grammar;) (yes I know what I said was bullshit) went to Betty's for a once in a lifetime treat since it's so expensive. I got a club sandwich which I didn't realise meant a double sandwich basically until I got it. I'm not complaining though as it was good but it was very filling I couldn't even finish it, but we took it home so it wasn't wasted.

Now to the dreaded Thursday 18th aka a level results day. Wow I was so nervous, I ended up checking if I got into uni before I collected my results as all my friends had already found out.

GUYS I GOT INTO UNI!!

Yep I actually got in and to my first choice, York (the main one not York St John even though I got an unconditional offer from there..I just love to make things hard for myself) I read the email saying I got accepted and it just didn't feel real, I was so shocked I didn't know what to say. Whereas my mum was way more openly excited that I was, she screamed so loudly!

Right back to collecting my results, so I got to school for about 10 where I immediately saw my friend. We went inside and I saw my psychology teacher there to hand me my results so that was nerve wrecking; she was lovely though!

I got an A* in Photography, a B in English and a B in Psychology. I AM SO FUCKING HAPPY!!

Like I worked my butt off for my exams and I'm just so damn happy that my work payed off. I can't believe I got an A* in Photography like both me and my best friend doing photography got A*s we are so happy, last year we both got As so we didn't think it could get better. At no point Sir said we could get that high, I just remember him giving me advice on how to definitely get an A, I bet he knew I was already past that he just wanted me to achieve more. He was an amazing teacher, so shoutout to him. I'm also incredibly happy I got a B in Psychology as I resat my AS exam last year to make sure I got a B and guess what..I got an A in that exam! Wow you know what just remember guys, hard work gets you to crazy places so always keep going if you can! Of course I'm happy with English, secretly I would have loved an A but I'm still so happy!

I hope everyone is happy with their results but if not I hope you still can do what you wanna do in the future. If that's uni then clearing is amazing for that or an apprenticeship etc. I wish the best for you all!

On Thursday night I went out with my friends to celebrate my results! Luckily celebrating rather than drowning in sorrows which I know a lot of people will sadly be doing that, including 1 of my friends who didn't get in to uni.

We started drinking in spoons to celebrate a friends 18th birthday and I got a blue lagoon pitcher which was so nice because it just tastes like lemonade!

Then eventually we got into Vipers after over 1 hour waiting in the queue, it was so busy.

Next up was Moko but it was good as online it cost £7 to go to both and the only clubs in Harrogate.

They really need to open more clubs.

Me and a friend stayed over at hers the night after, given we live in Leeds it's the best thing to do. So here's me chilling in bed with my friends cat Misty on my bed, how cute! It is crazy how fast double vodka & cokes get me drunk so now that's my go too drink as the pitcher did nothing, which is suprising as I'm such a lightweight, shoutout to all the lightweights out there! I think it's well good, saves money you know, I love it;)
Sorry about how long this post is and how late I'm posting this, I guess it's just so easy to ramble about my life and I got up late as always. Even if it isn't that interesting, I'll just keep talking oops.

Guys I've started rewatching the originals and I'm already 2 episodes away from season 2. Then after season 2 I have the new season 3 to watch I'm well excited.

So I'll talk to you guys next week!
Byeee, Sophie

PS: I write this on my computer so I'm hoping most of you view it on a computer/mac etc because my layout goes to shit when I view it on my phone so sorry about that, I swear it isn't my fault!

Meals Out With Family

Hey you beautiful people!
(Idk I just got bored of saying hey guys/everyone every week)

Right so, here comes the time when I have to check my camera roll to see what I did as apparently I live my life through pictures when I can't remember what I did.

Oh yeah (looks at pictures and remembers what I did) on Monday I chose 25 pictures of me and my friends that I wanted to print as Polaroids so my bedroom looks tumblr af (yep that's the aim) Basically, my favourite and only boyband I've ever liked called Union J lost a member and replaced him which I didn't like, especially as they kept the same name which is a bit unfair and weird. So good riddance to them, long winded point but yeah I ended up taking down all my posters so now I have loads of space on my wall. So I thought why not hang up some string and clip up some Polaroids as that'd look so cool. I even got some colourful clips to hang the pictures on. I ordered them on this app called lalalab which was good as I got 25% off with their offer and I should get them sometime this week. I'll keep you updated with how I get on.

I was asking my primary school best friend (that's right forget high school I kept friends..a friend from way back) about this thing that I remember making but I was trying to work out if I made it with her. It is hard to explain so I'm just gonna show you, it's meant to be this woman baking or something. As there's a wheel at the side which spins the bowl. Pretty cool right, proud of myself for keeping it all these years.
This is exciting for me as on Wednesday I decided I really wanted my ears pierced again. You know how people have double on 1 ear, well that's what I wanted. I got a rose gold stud on my right ear which I love, especially the colour as rose gold is my favourite colour.

So what do you think?

I was going to get 2 on both but then I thought no I wanna be different and I think it looks cool, right?!

Then on Thursday I went to Leeds shopping and to see Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates with my friend called Sophie. It's funny because my name in my girls groupchat was Soph#2 which I didn't really like so we changed it to me being Soph(small) and Soph(tall) which is way better. Anyway I got a bit sidetracked there, we went shopping in the morning and I bought this frame to hang Polaroids in from Primark which I'll show you later when I have got my pictures. Then we went to get some food from Trinity Kitchen which has so much choice it's difficult to choose. We ended up choosing some Vietnamese style food and we both got pork wraps with sauces and salad. It was nice but honestly it doesn't beat subway which I've been loving recently.

We went shopping again and stopped to grab a costa which ended up in us having a chat for ages.

I got a fudge caramel creamy cooler which had fudge chunks in it which tasted amazing! So I would definitely recommend.

My friend got popcorn coffee which sounded erm interesting to say the least. I know I wouldn't like it as I don't like coffee but me being me I took a picture purely because of the pretty coffee art. I just wish I could do that, damn that's pretty impressive.

On Friday I went for a meal at Pizza Express with my family.  I got raspberry lemonade which is my all time favourite drink. It's funny because even with the choice now I'm 18 I'll always choose fizzy drinks over alcohol unless I'm going out with friends to get drunk. As I don't really like the taste of most alcohol, unless it's one of the pitchers from spoons (weatherspoons)
Dough Balls Starter

I got my usual starter which I just can't get enough of.

Pizza (just pointing out the obvious)

For my main which surprisingly took me a while to decide as we had this offer so we could only choose a classic base.

In the end I chose a good old classic margherita pizza but with a twist of cured meats on top.

I wore my year 11 prom shoes which I haven't worn probably since prom but it reminded me how much I love them. Hmm I'm deciding whether to show you my OOTN (outfit of the night), yeah go on just accept me being a basic bitch by taking a mirror selfie.
To the right are my shoes close up that I took before I left the house, what do you think?

Now that's about it for what I did this week. Last night I ended up staying up until 3:30 as I was watching the Olympics. I mean it's only on every 4 years so why not, the British Olympians did so well. Mo Farah won his 3rd gold which is a new record, Jessica Ennis missed out on a gold but still got a silver which is amazing considering she had a child last year. Then Greg Rutherford aimed for gold but unfortunately missed out and got a bronze but that's still really good!

I got up about 12 today but only to say bye to my brother who is off back to uni to see his friends or something. Now I'm up so I thought well I may as well start the day by writing this blog for you lovely lot.

So I'll talk to you soon, when I'll know my a level results omg help...
I've actually been really good about forgetting all about results until it gets really close as there is no point worrying when there's no way of finding out before. So advice to anyone waiting for results, please carry on with your life and try put it to the back of your mind until the day or night before! As even I'll be worrying about it the night before, that's kinda inevitable.

Right I'll stop rambling and I'll talk to you all very soon!

Movie Nights

Hey everyone!
So I've had a busier week this week. Even if you don't care I'm gonna tell you all about it!

So on Monday I practically did nothing until I had to get dressed and out of bed for volunteering. Another reason why I'm glad I do it as it gets me out of the house more! Then on Tuesday I ended up volunteering again but this time 1-5 as they were desperate for help. I had nothing to do that day and I don't mind it so of course I said yes.

Yeah I may have snapchatted this because I was proud that I was literally looking after the whole charity shop whilst the manager was downstairs.

So I think I may have too many points cards as well as my provisional, debit, nus & my supersaver. I use them all the time though like the paperchase one is so good, I got £5 free for my birthday! I now have a card purse & a money purse, it's getting a bit ridiculous now but what can I do?!

Then on Wednesday, I went shopping for my friend's 18th birthday as her party was on Friday. I ended up getting a cute his & hers mug set for her and her boyfriend (left the price on though didn't I ugh..it was on sale as well) I got her a cute little purple purse (purple is her favourite colour aren't I the best friend) and a little strawberry lip balm.

I was with my friend so of course after subway where I got chicken breast with salad omg so good! We got a costa afterwards, I had a raspberry and blackberry cooler which I haven't tried before. It's so nice so if you love berry flavours then this is so for you!

Then on Thursday I went to see Finding Nemo with my friend and her work friends (who I know as they work at Next) It was so good, of course me and my friend had to get the goggles and take a selfie in them, why are we so cool?! I saw this post which was like honestly if you're younger than 12 seeing finding Nemo then fuck off and let the 90s kids see it first, we've been waiting for way longer and I was like yes omg preach (because apparently I like to preach now..)

On Friday it was my friend's 18th as I told you earlier. She (and her parents I'm guessing) hired out a venue which was cool. She also hired an ice cream chuck which was the best thing especially as we didn't have to pay! I wonder how much it costs to hire one..hmm (not even gonna have a party I'll just hire one for me oh and you guys;)

My friend had the coolest birthday cake ever, she did photography a level with me so she loves photography. This was her cake, so awesome right!

On the Friday night I stayed at my friend's because I live in Leeds so it's awkward having to go home and I'd hate to leave early. Then on Saturday it was my other friend's 18th (I wasn't the only one to turn 18 really late!) so I stayed at my other friends then. We were gonna go out and hit the toon (as in Harrogate town idk why I spoke like that don't judge me) but my friend got way too drunk on Friday so she was like so dead and couldn't even get up without throwing up, she had a 1 day and a night hangover (prays that never happens to me)

So instead we had a movie night watching the bratz film because why not, it wasn't actually that bad. I love crappy films like that sometimes, also there's so much choice on Netflix it can get intimidating sometimes (trust me it can) I am way better at choosing tv series than films.

We didn't wake up until like 11, she regained back control of her life and I just caught up on some sleep. Then she was the best friend ever and made us a cooked breakfast. We had sausages, baked beans, toast and bacon, mmm it was good.

Then we watched more YouTube and went out to walk her dog. I think I would get so much fitter (as in healthier okay) if my family got a dog but you know what I don't care I love cats way too much.

I still took a picture anyway, I thought it looked cool with the shadows but if you look closely in the distance you can see molly (my friend's dog)

Now I'm on the bus home writing this on my notes on my phone. I love to update you guys on my life, even if some weeks it isn't that interesting (heads up I'm obviously home now, catching up on celebrity big brother of course)

I just realised this whole week I've been busy, wow it makes a change from Netflix and chill (by myself) I never went home between Friday and Saturday as there was no point so I got subway with my friend and bought this cool bracelet for £3 with my topshop voucher that was nearly gonna expire. Now I have £1 left which is awkward but I'm determined to spend it and not waste it.  Anyway, do you like it? It has some grey over the stones which I love!

My other friend made me a chicken stirfy fajita thing, I mean haven't I just got the best of friends.
Right so I'll talk to you all next week!
Sophie
