Hey people!
Hope you're doing good and your first days back at school/uni/work weren't as bad as you imagined.
Right, so I know celebrity big brother isn't everyone's cup of tea (I
couldn't sound more British if I tried) but there's been a lot of
controversy regarding a certain person so if you have no idea what I'm
about to talk about then..you're welcome for keeping you up to date with
current events;) Basically, this American politician called Winston (I
don't care enough to know/to google his second name) set himself up for a
lot of hate to come. As in his introductory video before he entered
the house he said and I quote "I could cope with a homosexual in the
house..I guess I'll just have too and with my back against a brick wall
all the time". I mean come on, first of all he may be able to cope with
homosexuals but in no way will they come close to even tolerating
him. Then, to make matters worse they played a game using quotes from
what some celebs had said and they had to guess who said what quote.
Winston's came up and he said gay adoption is like child abuse and then
the whole house freaked out (to nobody's surprise).
(I totally didn't just split the paragraphs to make it seem like I didn't ramble on..again I'm sorry about my ranting)
It's just unbelievable
and the worst (yep it gets worse) thing about it is he claims he isn't
homophobic yet he compares gay couples adopting a child to child abuse
(definitely not homophobic at all...rolls eyes) He just infuriates me but I was so
glad when he was kicked out by all the other contestants when they
heard the quote he said and then Emma grilled him in the interview
after. She did an amazing job considering he was being a stereotypical
political meaning he would avoid answering the actual question at all
costs. Then to top it off on celebrity big brother's bit on the side
(also known as CBBOTS ofc) he got another grilling from Rylan Clark who
presents the show. So Winston said I'm glad to be a black American able
to express my own opinions so in response Rylan said I'm happy to be
able to be a gay British guy with an amazing job and hoping to have kids
in the future with my husband, this made me incredible happy. Even
better (yep just wait), so of course he was trying to "justify" himself
which went a little something like this; clearing failing miserably. I
got on well with Christopher (he was one of the 2 gays in the house) and
he borrowed a vest from him and he didn't judge his sexuality (wow big
achievement mate, please do keep talking..just the constant thoughts
running through my mind) and Rylan's comeback of you're not gonna catch
gay from a vest was purely brilliant. So I'm sorry because I did try to
keep this short but I find it hard to restrain myself when I'm talking
about one of my favourite reality shows!
However I do want to address something which is just that I'm so glad a
wider majority of the population don't care about people's sexual
identity, just as long as you love each other and are happy then great.
It just frustrates me when even in this day and age (wow that
makes me sound old) have views that are just so outdated! Like
we have evolved massively as before there would be be no Christians that were
openly gay but now there is and that's wonderful, like that irrelevant
man thinking religion is an excuse for being homophobic was atrocious and utter bull(shit). Why can't you
just be happy that people are happy together?! What a great community
the LGBTQ+ is, ugh it just fills my heart with joy to see now how
widespread acceptance is for gays, trans, bi etc.
I still haven't used my bathbombs I got off friends for Christmas but my mum had a bath the other day and used the luxury lush pud one and the colours were amazing so I had to capture it:
So in the holidays I watched Guardians Of The Galaxy with my family and omg it was such a good film. It also had the best soundtrack which fit perfectly with every scene which was a bonus. So if you like action/comedy films then this a must
see for you! (I apologise for sounding like an advertiser but you just have to trust me on this one that it is just so damn good).
Last week I got some new shoes in the January sales and they are called vintage
floral vans. I've always wanted a pair and now I know they're going to
be my go to pair of shoes to wear. Size 5 fit me well luckily because often I'm
size 5 & 1/2 which is so awkward because nobody does half sizes so
if I really want to wear a pair of shoes often I have to wear insoles
because I'd rather get too big then getting too small and end up damaging my
feet. Since I take a picture of pretty much everything (no wonder why
I'm always running out of storage on my phone) then I thought I'd take a
picture to show you:
Aren't they just beautiful?! (feeling the heart eyes emoji right now)
Now I have this pair and a
pair of bright pink vans. Yep, I'm definitely a person who loves pattern
and bright colour, I just get so bored of bland colours like black and
white. Unless they are combined together because I have some black and white skinny floral trousers from Topshop and they are lovely. Recently my new favourite clothing has gotta be patterned
trousers, which is great because I'll wear them at home mostly
but because they are fairly smart casual it means I can wear them for sixthform
which is good as I'm always running out of clothes to wear. I started off sixthform planning cute outfits to wear the night before yet now fast forward to 2 years in where I wake up in the morning and end up throwing any jumper I can find and some black jeans on (that look like trousers so I can get away with them) and rushing constantly so I don't miss the bus. Oh how times change..
Right, so I wanted to take pictures of sparklers yesterday but it was raining when I
tried so I couldn't because I didn't want to damage my camera but I swear I'll have done it by next Sunday.
Hope you all have a good week!
Talk soon
Sophie
